Training objectives

The Destination Management program (MEI) prepares students to design, manage, market and develop event-related activities. The MEI course introduces students to the complexities of the event industry in terms of the various stakeholders involved: venues, territories, service providers, agencies, accommodators, transporters, and the issues at stake (risks, climate change, CSR, etc.). They also learn how to create an event for a company, a region or an association. Students learn the fundamentals of event organization: briefing, event design, contracts, support tools (accounting and digital). They are also trained in innovation and new professions. Students are involved in setting up events as part of their projects, and in numerous meetings and visits with industry professionals.

Job opportunities professionals

On completion of the Master's program, students can work, in France and abroad, in tourism companies and organizations that organize or host events, such as events agencies, hotels, châteaux, estates, leisure parks, convention centers, etc. They can also work in institutions and official bodies (tourist offices, local authorities, regional or central administrations) that are increasingly involved in cultural events. They can also set up their own company or pursue a doctorate, in particular through the CIFRE program. Graduates from recent years have gone on to become Meeting and Event executive, Senior Event Manager, Assistant Manager and Digital Business Support, Event Production and Coordination, Groups & Wedding Event manager, Junior/Senior Event Project Manager, Project Manager, Venue Finder, etc.

Profile of the applicant

To enter the M1 program, candidates must hold a general bachelor's degree in economics, management, geography, history, sociology, information-communication, LEA or LLCER. Admission is via Mon Master or Études en France. Candidates are selected on the basis of their application files, and may be required to attend a motivation interview. To enter the M2 MEI program, candidates must have an M1 in Tourism (or equivalent). Admission is by application (e-candidate), professional project and interview.
