Training objectives

The Master's degree in Social Sciences Applied to Food is designed to disseminate new practical and theoretical skills in a context of crises that have partially invalidated certain organizational logics in the industry. The aim of the Master's degree in Social Sciences Applied to Food is to acquire the knowledge and tools needed to understand the logics of players, strategies and policies implemented at different levels in the food sector, and to integrate them into their professional practices. The reorganization of food sectors and the food landscape is expressed by technical and administrative authorities in the phrase "inverting the traditional upstream-downstream approach in favor of an upstream-downstream approach", i.e. taking into account the social aspects of food, the acceptability of innovations, and the major determinants of the transformation in consumption patterns (aging population, changing lifestyles, complex food expectations combining health, pleasure and culture, legalization of consumption, transformation of the human-animal relationship, etc.).).
