The objectives of the GVCS master's degree

The aim of the Master's degree in Gastronomy, Wines, Cultures and Societies is to train students in the knowledge of the tangible and intangible cultural heritage associated with gastronomic and viticultural cultures, and in the inventorying of this heritage in its political, technical and commercial dimensions. This training enables students to participate in the definition and implementation of inventory and enhancement policies at different territorial and international levels, in multiple cultural environments. It provides training in how to help political decision-makers finance and implement inventories and enhancements in the food and wine industries. Students will also be ready to build up documented databases (products, recipes, social practices of contextualized food intake, etc.). This master's degree trains students to promote and disseminate their work, through publications in all forms (physical and dematerialized media), in support of the industry's marketing initiatives.

Graduates of this Master's program can go on to work in a wide range of sectors, including local authorities, archives and museums, food and wine trade associations, publishing houses, and the catering and hotel industries. Main target professions :
  • Inventory and enhancement project manager,
  • In charge of food and/or wine culture and heritage,
  • Designer and producer of cultural projects on gastronomy and/or wine.

Profile of the applicant

The GVCS Master's degree is open to students who have completed a bachelor's degree, mainly in the fields of Tourism, Hospitality - Catering, Human and Social Sciences, Economics and Management.
