Bachelor's degree (Licence 3) open to initial and continuing training at the Mirail campus (Toulouse). This is a sociology degree. The Licence 3 Sociologie et Anthropologie de l'Alimentation enables students to acquire the knowledge needed to understand the structuring and evolution of the food industry. It also provides access to knowledge and mastery of the basic techniques and tools needed to understand the social and cultural dimensions of food. The course features numerous case studies drawn from the work of our teaching and research staff, as well as observation of professional situations, backed up by occasional or ongoing contributions from professionals in the field of gastronomy, food (food education), taste (sensory education), nutrition (nutritional education) and catering engineering.

The professional integration of students varies. They can join professions associated with research and surveys, or move into the design and management of food systems in mass catering, or the therapeutic monitoring (dietetics and nutrition) of patients in hospitals or private practice.
