Designed as a bridge between the Tourism and Culture sectors, this degree will train you in the challenges of enhancing the value of tangible and intangible heritage, as well as cultural practices, through the proposals made to the public. It will enable you to discover the vast field of cultural tourism, both through the courses offered at the University and through compulsory internships. It takes place in Saumur, a town that is particularly well-suited to the observation and study of this subject.

Training objectives

The Bachelor of Arts degree aims to train students with technical know-how and theoretical knowledge in the fields of culture and heritage. This balance is reflected in the teaching of tourism, culture and heritage, art history, mediation and architecture, while maintaining a real connection to the professional world with two 3-month internships in the second and third years of the degree. At the end of the program, students will be able to :
  • the know-how required for project management, mediation, promotion and support in the cultural field.
  • solid knowledge of the institutional, administrative, associative and entrepreneurial organization of the cultural sector.
  • openness to all professional sectors and the tourism ecosystem.
  • professional mastery of two foreign languages and digital tools, and the interpersonal skills required for service professions.

Job opportunities professionals

On completion of this course, you'll be eligible for a wide range of jobs in the fields of animation, design and mediation on cultural or heritage sites. You can also work in tourism and/or culture project/mission management within a local authority or destination management organization. You could also go on to study for a Master's degree. This training also opens the door to competitive examinations for heritage coordinators and curators.
