Word the training manager

Open since the 2016-2017 academic year, the Tourism and Nautical course is a training program that has found its place in the tourism offering of coastal destinations. Anchored in territorial realities and adapted to specific coastal features, it offers academic and professionalizing teaching within a human-sized class. The program's added value lies in its participative approach to teaching, as well as its coaching and support systems.

Training objectives

Coastal areas are one of France's main tourist destinations. The high level of seasonal visitor numbers, the economic spin-offs for the region and the number of jobs created all bear witness to a real and sustained dynamism in which nautical activities contribute to the tourism offering. The significant growth in the number of water sports activities on the coast over the last few decades - and their diversity in terms of types of activity - means that these areas need to adapt to the demands of tourism. The aim of the program is to offer students interested in the Tourism, Leisure and Nautical sectors the opportunity to develop and implement their project within a third year of higher education. The program's central objective is to provide a detailed understanding of the socio-economic issues that characterize nautical activities, and their highly touristic dimension. The program enables students to acquire and/or complete their knowledge of the sectors and professions on offer, based on the specific characteristics (economic, demographic, sociological, spatial, etc.) of coastal areas.
